A tiny container was discovered near the rubbish bin emitting distressing whines and squeaks that could break anyone’s heart. The sight of it stirred up an overwhelming sense of compassion and sorrow.
HelpAWS is a non-profit animal rescue organization situated in St. Lucia that runs with the support of volunteers and individuals. One of their staff members was wrapping up work when she came across a box near their building, which had a dog whimpering inside it.
As the woman made her way towards the trash, she noticed a box sitting beside it. To her surprise, she found some tiny puppies inside who were scared and seemed to be worn out. It dawned on her that someone had intentionally left these innocent creatures there with the expectation that the shelter staff would find them. She couldn’t help but wonder, why would anyone act so irresponsibly?
One of the coworkers sprung into action and gathered her fellow colleagues to assist in bringing the puppies to safety inside the shelter. After being thoroughly checked for injuries and illnesses, the good news was that the pups were found to be healthy. Although initially scared and anxious, the puppies eventually calmed down when they realized they were in a safe place with people who cared for them.
The pups were given tender attention and began to mature rapidly. They displayed a sprightly and frolicsome demeanor, gradually becoming more comfortable around humans. Once they reached the appropriate age, the team of volunteers initiated the search for suitable adopters.
