One day, a client of a veterinarian found an abandoned cardboard box on her porch. Inside the box was a scrawny and injured cat, whom the client named Porg. Porg had a large wound around his neck, which was most likely caused by past trauma and abuse. The client rushed Porg to the nearest emergency room for animals, where he received stitches for his wound.

With his big, beautiful eyes and a notable wound around his neck, Porg was taken to the veterinarian for a comprehensive check-up. The staff at the clinic couldn’t resist falling in love with the feisty little furball, despite his small size of just 1.3 pounds. Although Porg’s owner was initially smitten by him, she eventually agreed to let her client nurse him back to health. From that day forward, Porg became a cherished addition to their family.

The veterinarian took Porg under her wing and welcomed him into her family. Although he may have looked a bit peculiar compared to other felines with his oversized eyes and smaller lower jaw, he appeared to be healthy overall. His name, Porg, was inspired by a character from Star Wars who bears a striking resemblance to him.

In order to resolve this issue, his caretaker provided him with medication and also decided to conduct a skin biopsy to identify the root cause. Unfortunately, the results confirmed her suspicion that Porg was suffering from feline skin fragility syndrome, also known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which is a genetic disorder that causes the skin to be more elastic and sensitive than usual, making it prone to tearing. This condition is rare in cats, and Porg earned the nickname “glass kitten” due to his delicate skin.

Porg may have had some setbacks due to his condition, but once he recovered from previous wounds, he proved to be a lively and playful pup. His family members adore him and made it their mission to find the right regimen to preserve his health and safety. It was a tough journey, but they finally found a routine that Porg could stick to and excel at!

To protect his skin from further damage, Porg relies heavily on clothing. His owners are always on the lookout for garments that not only cover him well but are also cozy and fashionable!

Porg suffers from lens luxations, a condition where the eye lens is displaced. This condition has been observed in some cats with Elhers Danlos Syndrome. Though it may be uncomfortable, Porg’s eyes are being taken care of with the help of daily eye drops.
