While working at the pet food store, a customer alerted us to an unusual sight outside: a puppy crying out in pain and unable to stand or walk. We were unsure what had happened to the poor pup, but we knew we had to take action to help him. Without hesitation, we brought him inside and assessed his condition. It was evident that he was in significant discomfort and experiencing fear. Despite our efforts to soothe him, it was clear that he required more extensive assistance than we could provide. Therefore, we made the decision to transport him to the veterinarian for a thorough evaluation.

When we brought Lucky to the veterinary clinic, we felt a sense of relief when we were told that there were no broken bones. However, the vet suspected that he might have a spinal cord injury that affected his nerves. To alleviate the pain and inflammation in his spinal cord, the vet prescribed some medication. Unfortunately, even with the medication, Lucky was still crying and unable to stand up.

Feeling concerned about how Lucky was doing, we made the decision to take him in for an X-ray. Upon consulting with the veterinarian, we learned that he hadn’t sustained any broken bones but had suffered from a spinal cord injury, which was resulting in a considerable amount of pain. The vet provided us with medication to ease his discomfort and reduce inflammation.
After adopting him, we gave him the name Lucky, and he quickly became an integral part of our family. Despite his challenging circumstances, he never gave up and exhibited remarkable progress every day. He even attempted to lift his head and eat independently, which was a great sign. Thankfully, Lucky remained enthusiastic and cooperative throughout his rehabilitation.

Last time we gave him an injection, we were unsure of what had occurred, but his injection spot was infected and worsening. However, Lucky was still thriving in all other aspects despite being unable to walk. He had a great appetite and was highly cooperative with taking his medication. The abscess continued to secrete pus, which meant that it required daily cleansing.

As the days passed by, Lucky had made significant improvements. He regained the ability to move all of his legs, and he even managed to take a refreshing bath. The abscess that had been causing him trouble has dried up, and it’s actively showing indications of healing. In no time, Lucky was back on his feet and walking around like before.

We were over the moon when we witnessed Lucky’s first run after his injury. He was a true fighter, and we felt blessed to have been a part of his recovery journey. It was evident that Lucky was destined to be a part of our family, so we made the decision to adopt him.

Lucky, our beloved dog, brings joy and positivity into our daily lives. His health and well-being are our top priorities, and we’re grateful to provide him a permanent home. During his visit to the vet for his vaccine shot, Lucky was nervous and even had an accident inside his cage. Nevertheless, we still see him as a blessing and feel fortunate to have him as part of our family.
